Most traumatic and terrible experience I've been through. This was one of the only places open during the holidays and unfortunately I had to go here. Brought my dog in and paid the consultation fee, didn't get my change back. Then the doctor quickly examined my baby and asked a few questions. He stated I should've brought him in sooner which made me feel like I was to blame. The receptionist was the one who told me what they needed to do, not the doctor, and said they couldn't do anything until I paid for treatment. While trying to figure out the finances, my dog experienced his first seizure and we cried for help. No one came and I sat there in panic. The receptionist didn't show any compassion or comfort which didn't help me much either. I asked for options and asked if I could pay for something to be done to help him. They insisted I pay the full amount before beginning anything. He seized again and once again cried for help. Receptionist didn't do anything and stated there was nothing she can do. A bowl of water would've been nice. I ran out of options for payment and decided to go elsewhere. It was a waste of money and time. According to the doctor, he should have been seen right away but once there, we received no support or advice. This is the kind of place that cares more for the money than your loved ones. I saw a huge difference in the new hospital I took him to. They took him from my arms and right away helped him without demanding payment beforehand. This place could have saved a lot of pain and heartache. The lack of comfort and assurance showed me they were heartless. I won't ever recommend this place.
I was house sitting at Mountain House and the clients dog attacked my 6lb chihuahua and tore his eye lid and face. It was a Saturday and I was miles away for my regular vet in Dublin, CA. I went to Paws and Claws and my dog was seen immediately. They immediately checked him in for surgery. I was given an estimate for the procedure. The price was considerably lower than I was expecting. I was actually very surprised and made sure it was not a mistake. I paid more for my dogs last dental procedure and now he was having eye surgery. I was able to pick him up later that night. I was given a cone and three kinds of medication. The final estimate was almost $300 under the quoted price. The price included all the meds, the cone and a follow up visit in two weeks. At the time I was told they could not guarantee there would be no scar. My dog has made a complete recovery and no scar. Throughout the ordeal Paws and Claws was caring and professional and my dog was calm. I am 68 years old and have had many pets in my life and have been to a few vets, if I like them I tend to remain with them. Recently my Dublin vet sold to a corporation. Paws and Claws are my new vet.
This place is an absolute joke! Its pointless to make an appointment. Walk in and there a line of people out the door which tells me they overbook. Then they give you the excuse thats its an emergency room. If thats the case they should have more help.
Are you people crazy! Sending flowers to owners after your bad care and the cost of $ 3000.00 dollar for a poor cat that died. You brought all the grief back to my son and his wife. Bad experience you put them through. Go to yelp and read my son's review. If you love your pets don't take them here! Your office should reimburse them for all costs!! My opinion money hungry crooks!! They do not care about our beloved pets!!!!!
I purchased a new puppy that had a cough. The previous owners said they took the puppy to Paws and Claws Veterinary Hospital for a check-up. I was told that the cough should subside, but it hasn't. So I called Paws & Claws this morning 8:45am. Samantha said she couldn't provide give me any information until they had proof that the puppy was mine. I promptly emailed her a Bill of Sale and the invoice from the previous owner. It's now 4:30pm and nothing from them. So I called to get an update. Nothing! The new person answering the phone was very non-committal about when I would receive a response, but when I pushed he said Samantha was on the phone. I was told that the veterinarian can't release medical information to anyone but the owner. I'm not sure what the Bill of Sale and how much I paid for the puppy meant to them, but to me it means I'M THE OWNER! Good grief! Puppies with a cough can become serious. I need a tiny bit of information about the health and well being of MY dog, that they treated. I'm not sure what the big deal is here. But their lack of response and lackadaisical attitude about my sweet little puppy is leaving me cold. I'll just have to take her into another vet to make sure she's ok.
